The Casablanca Stock Exchange began its morning trading session on a positive note, showing broad-based gains across its main indices.
The MASI.20 index, which tracks the performance of the 20 most liquid companies listed on the exchange, climbed by 0.43% to reach 1,299.76 points. Similarly, the MASI.ESG index, representing companies with the highest ESG ratings, posted a significant increase of 1.53%, rising to 1,344.89 points.
The MASI Mid and Small Cap index, which gauges the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises, also saw improvements, gaining 0.20% to settle at 1,728.18 points.
In terms of individual stock performance, notable gains were recorded by BMCI, which rose by 4.1% to 579 dirhams, Managem, which increased by 3.96% to 1,679 dirhams, and Taqa Morocco, which climbed 2.59% to 1,744 dirhams. Fenie Brossette (Faisan) and SGTM also saw upward momentum, increasing by 2.49% to 333 dirhams and 2.42% to 635 dirhams, respectively.
Conversely, some equities experienced downward pressure. Stroc Industrie led the decliners, dropping 4.8% to 166.50 dirhams, followed by Mutandis SCA, which fell 2.53% to 225.65 dirhams. Other notable losses included T2S Holding (-2.09% to 218.05 dirhams), Credit du Maroc (-1.46% to 946 dirhams), and Douja Promotion Groupe Addoha (Residences Dar Saada) (-1.16% to 170 dirhams).
These gains mark a shift from the previous session, as the MASI index concluded trading on Thursday with a loss of 0.95%.
