Chaired by Fatima Bakkar, the organization praises the vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the growing international recognition of Morocco’s Autonomy Plan

In a statement received by the newsroom of Moroccan Zoom, the Sahara Horizons Organization, chaired by Fatima Bakkar, announced its full and unwavering support for UN Security Council Resolution No. 2797, adopted in late October 2025, concerning the Moroccan Sahara issue.
This position aligns with the growing wave of international endorsement for Morocco’s Autonomy Plan, widely recognized as the most realistic, credible, and lasting solution to end the regional dispute over the Sahara. The new UN Security Council resolution reaffirms the international community’s trust in this initiative and underlines its credibility and relevance as the foundation for a political solution.
In its official statement, the organization declared:
“The Sahara Horizons Organization, chaired by Mrs. Fatima Bakkar, expresses its full support for UN Security Council Resolution No. 2797 regarding the Moroccan Sahara, adopted at the end of October 2025. The organization considers this decision as a clear renewal of the international community’s confidence in Morocco’s Autonomy Initiative, which the Council has recognized as a serious and credible proposal.”
In this context, the organization praised the wise and forward-looking vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as well as the ongoing national and diplomatic efforts aimed at consolidating Morocco’s sovereignty over its Saharaand enhancing comprehensive development in the southern provinces.
The statement also highlighted the pivotal role of the King’s pioneering initiatives in modernizing infrastructure, improving living conditions, and promoting productive investments within the framework of the special development model for the southern provinces launched by His Majesty. This model reflects an integrated approach that combines the defense of territorial integrity with the promotion of human and regional development.
Furthermore, Sahara Horizons emphasized that Resolution 2797 “reflects the growing international support for Morocco’s position and confirms the validity of the Moroccan approach based on realism and consensus.”
