The cultural and social association “Fujairah Culture,” in collaboration with the “Emiratie Ghabsha” Foundation, honored four Moroccan intellectuals and artists last night, Monday, June 5, 2023, with the “2023 Cultural Sustainability Award.” This recognition is in appreciation of their outstanding efforts in serving Arab culture and their continuous role in supporting and nurturing talent and students in the Kingdom of Morocco.
The ceremony took place at the Sofitel Rabat hotel as part of the activities of the Zayed International Ambassadors Initiative. It was attended by cultural expert Khaled Al Dhanhani, President of the Association and President of the Ghabsha Foundation, and artist Azal Yahya Idris, General Coordinator of International Events at “Ghabsha,” along with numerous cultural and artistic personalities from Morocco.
The ceremony, which is part of the “Fujairah Culture” strategy to support Arab creativity and celebrate pioneers of Arab culture, brought together poet and art critic Fawzia Lebyed, former member of the Moroccan Parliament, researcher, educator, and academic in the field of media Professor Karim Baba, writer-journalist Fathallah Errifae, as well as artist and theater director Amine Nassour.
In his opening speech at the ceremony, Khaled Al Dhanhani, President of the Association and President of the Ghabsha Foundation, stated, “Today, we had the pleasure of meeting and honoring a group of intellectuals from the Kingdom of Morocco who have made exceptional creative contributions in various fields of literature and arts in favor of Arab culture and humanity as a whole.”
He added, “Celebrating Moroccan creators strengthens deeply rooted fraternal ties, as common visions and initiatives continue to be implemented between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Morocco.” Al Dhanhani emphasized that “honoring achievers is a deeply ingrained principle in our Emirati literature and an inherent value of our Arab culture and heritage. We will continue to support and honor creators and promote the culture of creativity in different countries and societies.” He highlighted the role of the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Rabat, which contributed to the success of this cultural event.
Furthermore, the awardees expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the cultural association of Fujairah and the Emiratie Ghabsha Foundation for their interest in Arab creativity. They were honored during special forums for their role in enhancing culture in general, which is among the foundations of Arab and Muslim civilization.
