The Partnership aims to uplift Moroccan capabilities in Health Technology Assessment (HTA) tools and methods, with the ultimate goal of better assessment of pharmaceutical innovation while accelerating their access to patients in need.
Rabat, Morocco – May 18th – EuroMed University of Fez (UEMF) and Société Marocaine de l’Économie des Produits de Santé (SMEPS) in collaboration with AstraZeneca (AZ) are pleased to announce the signing of a groundbreaking partnership agreement, aptly named “HTA Charaka; Partnership for Better Health.” The agreement was signed on 18th May 2023, in the presence of the key representatives and stakeholders at a prestigious signing ceremony in Rabat, Morocco.
Together the 3 partners have mutually agreed to cooperate for the implementation of the HTA CHARAKA project which consists of educational sessions and workshops aiming to uplift the Moroccan capabilities in the Health Technology Assessment (HTA) tools and methods for better assessment of pharmaceutical innovation and accelerate its access to patients in need.
“HTA Charaka” aims to provide support to the healthcare system in a period of change and mutation with the healthcare extension project aligning with the Kingdom’s vision to enhance healthcare access to all Moroccans. This collaboration represents a powerful synergy that brings together the expertise and resources of each partner.
Commenting on this significant milestone, Rami Scandar, Country President for Near East and Maghreb, AstraZeneca expressed, “We are excited to embark on this journey with EuroMed University of Fez and SMEPS. By combining forces, we can use each partner’s capabilities and knowledge, resulting in a synergy that will tremendously benefit patients and contribute to advancing the Moroccan healthcare system’’.
