The High Commission for Planning (HCP) will be publishing an information note regarding the Industrial, Energy, and Mining Producer Price Index (IPPIEM) for the month of June 2023.
According to the report, there was a 0.2% increase in the Producer Price Index for the “Manufacturing Industries Excluding Oil Refining” sector. This growth was driven by increases in the following sub-sectors: “Metallurgy” (1.2%), “Manufacture of Electrical Equipment” (0.4%), “Clothing Industry” (0.3%), “Manufacture of Rubber and Plastic Products” (0.1%), and “Manufacture of Machinery and Equipment” (0.1%).
On the other hand, the “Food Industries” sector saw a decrease of 0.2% in its Producer Price Index. Meanwhile, the “Extractive Industries,” “Electricity Production and Distribution,” and “Production and Distribution of Water” sectors experienced stagnation in their respective indices.
