Mohammed Biedallah, the Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Turin, held a communication meeting with the local associative network and the Moroccan community residing in the city. This event is part of the consulate’s proximity policy and participatory approach, aimed at meeting the expectations and aspirations of the Moroccan community in Turin and the surrounding cities, a practice he has maintained since taking office.
The purpose of this meeting was to open channels of communication between the Consulate of Turin and all components of the Moroccan community, as well as various civil society organizations. Discussions focused on current issues concerning Moroccans in Italy and on finding the most effective solutions to improve their conditions.
The event also provided an opportunity for constructive debate, where the heads of various invited associations shared their insights. Given their direct work with the Moroccan community, they presented a series of issues, concerns, and aspirations. The digitalization of consular services for Moroccans worldwide was also discussed. Participants emphasized the importance of uniting associations and strengthening cooperation among all actors, which would grant the local associative network greater influence and presence.
Mohammed Biedallah, the Consul General, outlined the structural reforms undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Residing Abroad to enhance the quality of consular services for the Moroccan community, in line with the instructions and directives of King Mohammed VI.
The Consul General also highlighted the key role played by Moroccans living abroad in defending the national cause.
Additionally, the meeting addressed effective ways to improve the conditions of the Moroccan community and develop programs and activities aimed at preserving Moroccan identity.
For their part, representatives of the associative network reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to King Mohammed VI, the Alawite throne, and the Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara, stressing the importance of paying more attention to the social concerns of Moroccans residing in this region.
The attendees praised this communication initiative and expressed their hope for more activities that would reflect the Moroccan Consulate in Turin’s openness toward its community and the various Moroccan talents abroad.
