inDrive Facilitates Student Return with 50 Free Shared Rides in Morocco

Each September, thousands of Moroccan students undertake the journey from their hometowns to university cities. A trip that is often long and cumbersome: taxi to the station, waiting for a train or bus with fixed schedules, then another taxi to reach the campus. This year, 50 students will benefit from a simpler return to university thanks to inDrive, which is offering them free shared rides. A direct solution that replaces multiple connections with a single trip, allowing students to save money, reduce stress, and even create new friendships.

Unlike traditional journeys with several transfers, students can now share a car from their departure city to their university town. Result: less waiting, fewer changes, and a more predictable arrival. Carpooling reduces overall travel costs while fostering conviviality among peers.

“Before, I had to carry my heavy bags through two stations and wait for connections,” explains Amina, a 5th-year engineering student at ENSAM Meknès. “With the direct shared ride via inDrive, I loaded once, traveled with other students, and arrived on time. It was calmer and more fun.”

“No more connections, no more missed waits, no more bags to lug from one station to another,” adds Amine, also a 4th-year student at ENSAM Meknès. “The direct trip made the experience much simpler and more enjoyable than my usual train and taxi trips.”

For parents, safety remains a priority. “Avoiding extra taxis and stations was already a relief,” testifies Samira, mother of a first-year law student. “But what reassured me most was being able to track my daughter’s journey live on the inDrive app. It gave me real peace of mind.”

The initiative is implemented during the university return period, on major student travel routes such as Casablanca–Meknès and Agadir–Marrakech.

“We know that the return journey can be stressful and costly,” says Fatine Bennani Meziane, Country Representative of inDrive in Morocco. “By offering 50 students free shared rides, we want to alleviate this burden in a practical, affordable, and safe way — and affirm our commitment to supporting student communities as the academic year begins.”
