The Moroccan Foundation for Financial Education (FMEF) and its partners, in collaboration with the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), are gearing up to host the 11th edition of the “Global Money Week” (GMW) in Casablanca from March 20 to April 02, 2023. This year’s event will aim to introduce children and young people to the world of finance, highlighting the importance of financial planning and management for future success under the theme “Plan your money, plant your future”.
The program promises to provide informative classroom sessions led by financial sector stakeholders, training sessions for vocational training students, micro-entrepreneurs, and project leaders, as well as seminars and webinars for higher education students. The program will also feature organized visits to financial institutions and the distribution of fun educational materials to help children and young people understand financial concepts using entertaining methods.
To ensure inclusivity, the event will be conducted both in-person and remotely, and social media platforms will be used to reach a wider audience. The FMEF and its partners are also planning a digital campaign based on creative content and various formats to promote the event on social networks.
This year’s edition of GMW is focused on increasing the number of children and young people who benefit from informative visits to financial institutions while also ensuring the implementation of gender approaches and social inclusion for individuals from rural areas, children with specific needs, and more.
Since its launch in 2012, Global Money Week has become an international event that brings together actors from the financial sector in over 170 countries. Morocco has been organizing the event since its first edition, witnessing the participation of several hundred stakeholders in increasingly inclusive editions. With this year’s theme, the FMEF aims to equip youth with the necessary financial planning skills to secure a brighter future.
