The UN Historic Green March of October 2025

The UN Security Council Resolution 2797, adopted in October 2025, marks a historic milestone in the recognition of Morocco’s legitimate rights and sovereignty by the International Community, solidified by a definitive major UN Resolution recognizing Morocco’s territorial integrity. It is definitely a historic turning point that marks the end of a fabricated conflict, thanks to the wise leadership of His Majesty the King Mohammed VI, GOD Bless Him, signaling a UN shift from artificial dispute-based resolutions to consolidation of real facts: Morocco will remain in its Sahara and the Sahara in its Morocco until the end of time. It is not only an official position, it is a historical based fact that reflects the very DNA-homeland rooted existence of every Moroccan. The key words here are the personal engagement of His Majesty and the continuity of the uninterrupted Moroccanness of the Sahara throughout history.

A continued reality-based history imposing a turning point in the UN « element de langage »

The Resolution marks a Historic diplomatic shift for the following reasons: first of all, Resolution 2797, passed with 11 votes in favor, 3 abstentions (Russia, China, Pakistan), with Algeria absent, represents the strongest international endorsement of Morocco’s autonomy Initiative for the Moroccan Sahara.

The resolution isolates polisario proxy and its backers, particularly South Africa which has its own real controversial territorial and racial internal issues that it attempts to cover with external affairs.

The resolutions continued to describe the Moroccan autonomy plan as “serious and credible.” Although this language has appeared since Resolution 1754 (2007), but the current one strengthened it by aligning with broader international support for the only feasible solution: the Moroccan Proposal.

Also, previous resolutions like S/RES/2548 (2020) and S/RES/2602 (2021) renewed Minurso for only six months, reflecting uncertainty and diplomatic tension. The return to a one-year mandate indicates increased confidence in the political process and Morocco’s role.

This confirms Morocco’s credibility on the global stage, as no country including Algeria, went against Morocco.
Russia and China abstained given their respect for His Majesty and the importance they grant to their diplomatic relations with Morocco. They also didn’t go against the U.S. Penholder per respect for President Trump who has proved a strategic America First Policy that has transformed positions towards a more U.S. aligned vision, as seen in Tiktok episode, G2 Summit and Russia’s new European consolidated position. Pakistan’s Kashmiri question was, from a geopolitical point of view, an understandable inspired-position aligned with their national security interests. While everyone thought that algeria would have gone against Morocco, its passage at the UNSC proved that the U.S. leadership, the most important P5, remains the most capable force at the United Nations and that no other peripherical force could have affected the Moroccan Sahara historical success’ evolution, given His Majesty the King Peace-oriented Vision with Minister Bourita’s direct involvement àd clear instructions to his Department along with President Trump bold UN Leadership resulting in a laser-focused diplomacy. The Penholder’s written Resolution has instead opened a positive chapter for the Moroccan-Algerian relations – as exemplified by His Majesty’s all time extended hand to algerians and Minister Bourita peace-oriented mindset, and wish-expressed by the Special envoy Boulos, under President Trump’s leadership, which may lead to the designation of a new UN representative shift from the confrontational mindset to a more diplomatic Bourita-aligned posture. In the algerian shift and the overall general UNSC dynamic, the U.S. Ambassador Mike Waltz’s strong leadership, who was himself the National Security Adviser, was impactful, swift, efficient and decisive. This is Peace through Reason-Strength in full display, not Peace through mere populist confrontation. This resolution strengthened, therefore, the principle of global consensus at large and made it clear that regional peace is possible. It proved that future resolutions about other contexts could also be adopted in a consensual fashion and that the UN could finally play its foundational role of being the voice of reason and international peace through reason-based multilateral diplomacy. As His Majesty the King and Minister Bourita beautifully stated in their respective Royal Speech and 2M interview, it is not about who won or who lost: this Resolution made it clear that Morocco is a credible federative country that could bring antipodes countries together, no country went against Morocco, including algeria. This Resolution is a good example of what Genuine Peace could be.

In this vein, the resolution explicitly calls for negotiations based on solely Morocco’s 2007 autonomy plan. This marks a departure from earlier resolutions that were loaded with mere inexplicity, signaling a clear pivot toward Morocco’s initiative as the foundation for a final political solution to the artificial conflict. The U.S. Penholder under President Trump Leadership is straight to the point, favoring clarity within clarity: no waffle language as it used to be in UN Resolutions’ language.

His Majesty Mohammed VI, the King of Peace
Worth recalling that King Mohammed VI’s 26-Year Diplomatic Legacy has played a critical role in ending the artificial conflict. As highlighted by the Chief of Government Aziz Akhannouch and Minister Nasser Bourita, the resolution is the result of 26 years of strategic and pragmatic diplomacy led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, GOD Bless Him, and well exemplified by the hard work of Minister Bourita, who exemplified both the Minister and the Ambassador in chief on the Moroccan Sahara, known for his wise and polished speeches that brace for a high-level diplomatic diplomacy instead of populist street-oriented waffle languages. His Majesty’s consistent vision has indeed transformed the Sahara artificial issue that was created by Algeria, into a cornerstone of Morocco’s national unity and foreign policy. His leadership has earned Morocco growing international recognition and positioned it as a stabilizing force in Africa.

Minister Bourita’s clear and ambitious Diplomacy and global endorsements

The brilliant Minister Bourita, in his interview with 2M, emphasized His Majesty’s direct involvement in shaping Morocco’s diplomatic posture. From the 2007 autonomy initiative to the present resolution, Morocco has consistently advocated for realism, compromise, and pragmatism.

With His Majesty the King’s bold Vision, Minister Bourita’s exemplary personal and direct ambassadorial hardworkship, and global partnerships in place, Morocco is poised to become not just a regional power, but a global innovator in peace diplomacy.

Besides the natural continued U.S. and Israeli strong support to Morocco’s territorial integrity, His Majesty’s personal involvement and Minister Bourita’s well-led diplomatic efforts under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King, have been instrumental in strengthening the support of dozens of countries such as France, Germany, Spain and other European and LatinAmerican countries. The Moroccan Ambassador to Spain has also played a great role in shifting the Spanish position thanks to her strong linguistic and diplomatic experience.

Bourita himself has played a pivotal role in executing the King’s vision. His tireless diplomacy, from UN corridors to bilateral summits has helped secure endorsements from major powers and regional blocs. His interview on 2M highlighted how Morocco’s approach is seen as the only credible path forward, thanks to a blend of realism, compromise, and proactive engagement. Bourita’s ability to navigate complex geopolitical landscapes has earned him recognition as one of the most effective Ambassadors and foreign ministers in Africa and beyond.

Concrete result: More than 30 countries have opened consulates in Laayoune and Dakhla, confirming the natural and logical Moroccan sovereignty. Minister Bourita’s interview with 2M emphasized the resolution’s significance as a turning point in the UN’s treatment of the artificial conflict, aligning global discourse with Morocco’s constances.

Resolution 2797 used assertive language, describing Morocco’s autonomy plan as the “most feasible solution” and calling for “genuine autonomy under Moroccan sovereignty”. The one-year renewal of Minurso mandate, after years of six-month extensions reflects increased confidence in Morocco’s leadership and a desire for sustained diplomatic engagement. It means more confidence in the Moroccan efforts and less interest in the Minurso mandate that was prolonged for a longer mandate instead of a six-month impatient assessment. In a nutshell, and given the economic considerations for UN peacekeeping and political missions’ funding, the spirit of the resolution highlighting Morocco’s stability let us expect an orientation towards a future end of the Minurso mission, that becomes more and more needless.

President Trump: GOD’s Blessing to the World
President Trump deserves the Nobel Peace Prize for his sincere work towards Global peace and his staunch support of legitimate rights. He is a deeply honest President that can’t be bought. He is himself a Nobel Prize for the World, a Nobel human whose real Prize is Peace, his Peacemaking.
President Trump’s recognition and Abraham Accords synergy have been of a positive impact, leading to a more global awareness of historical facts and current developments. The 2020 recognition of Moroccan sovereignty by President Trump laid the groundwork for Resolution 2797’s assertive tone. This move, tied to Morocco’s participation in the Abraham Accords alongside Israel and the UAE, positioned Morocco as a key player in regional peace and cooperation. The Sahara issue is now embedded in a broader framework of Middle East diplomacy, economic integration, and strategic alignment: a successful model of stability and an enlightenment source for global peace across Africa, the Middle East and beyond. It is positioned as a strategic bridge between Africa, America, Europe and the Middle East.

Moroccans celebrated the spirit of the Resolution not just out of a sentiment of victory but as a form of Moroccan respect-spirited courtesy over a newly established confidence towards the UN which finally spoke the word of truth and confirmed the legitimacy of the Moroccan historical rights. In Arabic words، in the end of the day: الحق يعلو ولا يعلى عليه.

The Moroccan Sahara, a successful in Counterterrorism

The success of the Moroccan Sahara means the success of the International Community’s joint fight against terror.

Proxies became the main threat to the world. For example, many protests disguised in « education and health basic demands » across the world were in fact pro-hamas and proxies’ led disruptive and versatile movements that only wanted to undermine countries’ success and stability as seen in Jordan and beyond, in protests with « no-national flag ».

Morocco’s bold counterterror efforts thanks to DGED and DGSN’s exemplary joint work thanks to the brilliant Mansouri-Hammouchi genius team, combined with Minister Bourita’s brilliant support have been praised worldwide. This UN Resolution is inscribed in a convergent fashion.

By endorsing Morocco’s autonomy plan, the UN signals a preference for Morocco’s legitimate rights as the most stable African state rather than externally imposed frameworks by those which back proxies and seek antisemitic instability. The Historic U-20 Moroccan Championship on the global stage and the Historic Moroccan Sahara Success on the UN level confirmed the Moroccan Championship success story exemplified with two major national Moroccan-flag Celebrations of the 40million Moroccans across the country in two successive weeks reminding of the Moroccan united march theme following the historic success in Qatar’s World Cup but also the United Moroccan Sahara march against UN’s bankimoon hostile statement in 2016, in both of marches I took part in. In one word: Morocco is World’s Champion. This resolution reflects a growing confidence in Morocco’s role as a continental and global actor, especially given its leadership in the African Union’s peace and security initiatives and its expanding diplomatic footprint across sub-Saharan Africa.
This perspective reframes the Sahara not as a geographic context, but as a strategic corridor linking West Africa, the Sahel, and the Mediterranean.

October 31st, 2025 isn’t meant nor inscribed in a logic to replace October 7th, 2023 in the collective global calendar memory, but rather could be also interpreted as a firm counterterror global answer and as such should be remembered as a global important date for the world. Both dates will be remembered in their first positive – October 31- and second tragic -October 7- contexts, and most importantly in their both deceptive character for terror groups and their backers. Having occurred on the eve of Halloween which symbolizes rebirth, the resolution brings a world message of resilience in the face of terror and, a global care for the great values of stability and freedom over proxies’ vicious games communist alignment. All those who directly supported the resolution and/or congratulated Morocco are on the right side of history of reason, counterterror and freedom. The message is clear for those who didn’t. Moreover, the resolution has been viewed as a new possibility of global trust in the UN and a genuine Moroccan-inspired source of motivation for those who seek to recover their historical rights: representatives of Tunisian people who also congratulated Morocco wondered on social media which documents to send to the UN to recover their own « Western Sahara in current algeria » according to X accounts. What is certain is that Moroccans will definitely continue to advocate for the Oriental Sahara while fulfilling two logical goals: FTO designation and 4th Committee language replacement with Oriental Sahara. The resolution sends a message of strength and international solidarity, including Peace through reason’s Strength. A counterterror major date that should be celebrated every year at the United Nations. Israel, one of those countries that have faced terror proxies for decades, and a strong supporter of Moroccan territorial integrity like the United States, was highly satisfied with the UN resolution that has broad implications on world peace: « I wish to congratulate His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the endorsement by the UN Security Council of a resolution which supports Morocco’s autonomy plan for Sahara under Moroccan sovereignty. It is a triumph for a long lasting determined Moroccan diplomacy! », stated the Prime Minister Netanyahu.

As such, while Morocco hasn’t seen the resolution as a victory, given its daily victories and the factual nature of the reality-based situation on the ground according to which the Sahara has already been recovered in 1975, the UNSC Resolution has been globally hailed as a diplomatic victory for Morocco, as the world became more conscientious of the fallacious allegations of those proxies existing on a current algerian territory, although it has been a Moroccan oriental Sahara territory: polisario is in current algeria not in Morocco, it uses the same Moroccan cities’ names to fool the world public opinion. World politicians who visited the current Algerian territory described it as a small neighborhood composed of 40 tents, the streets of which are replicating cities’ names to give it a wider geographical impression. Many use Algerian passports to be accepted in international foras and therefore polisario means algeria. It is time for Algerians to choose reason over fiction and to open a page of friendship and good neighboring as taught in Islamic precepts and broadly the universal values for the long dreamed of peaceful and friendly Maghreb, leading to economic prosperity for all Africa.

Against the backdrop of the developments in Africa and particularly in the Sahel region and the oriental Sahara, where Iranian backed proxies, including polisario, have played vicious antisemitic games to generate disorder, the well respected Congressman Joe Wilson has designated polisario as an FTO in a major Congress Resolution. In the same vein, the UN Resolution subtly repositions the Moroccan Sahara as a linchpin for global counterterrorism and global peace.

While an official designation of the proxies as an FTO would enhance the global CT cooperation, marking a major step in the fight against terror, the UN resolution offers a clear window to capitalize on Counterterror efforts. It serves also as foundational document in the jargon of global peace, for the Abraham Accords countries which have all already recognized the Moroccan sovereignty. In this vein, November is poised to be the Golden month of the Abraham Accords, leading to a new dawn in Africa and the Middle East, with an upgrade of the Moroccan-Israeli Embassies and hosting the next Negev Forum in the Moroccan city of Dakhla.

Morocco’s Model for global peacebuilding

Resolution 2797 is therefore more than a diplomatic victory, it is a strategic blueprint. Morocco’s leadership, grounded in vision, diplomacy, and innovation, offers a compelling model for global peace.

Looking ahead, Morocco has the opportunity to lead a new frontier in diplomacy by launching an innovative model for global peace.

In this context, the successful Moroccan Sahara model can be transformed in a veritable AI Peace Lab. To capitalize on this momentum, Morocco could launch Moroccan Sahara AI Peace Lab, a global hub for AI-driven diplomacy, exporting Morocco’s diplomatic model to the world. It would reinforce Morocco’s role as a pioneer in peace tech and transform the Moroccan Sahara into a symbol of innovation and stability, in addition to its label as the Capital of Tolerance as declared by the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace in 2022.

This innovation-powered initiative would not only reinforce Morocco’s leadership but also offer the African Union a chance to expel proxies and terrorist groups to enhance its credibility on the global stage. It would transform the Moroccan Sahara from an artificially generated dispute into a living laboratory for peace, stability, and innovation. In doing so, Morocco would redefine the role of other African states in global governance moving from recipients of peacekeeping to architects of peace.

It would be subsequently a first-of-its-kind international research and policy center based in Laayoune or Dakhla, dedicated to exploring how artificial intelligence can enhance peacebuilding and diplomatic strategy. This initiative would leverage Morocco’s success with the UN Resolution as a living case study of how diplomacy, regional leadership, and technology can converge to build on global peace.

This would position Morocco as a continental leader in peace tech, blending its diplomatic credibility with cutting-edge AI research. It will reinforce the Moroccan Sahara as a symbol of stability and innovation, along with sovereignty. A real Moroccan global blueprint for tech-enabled diplomacy.

Together, His Majesty the King Mohammed VI’s long-term vision, Minister Bourita’s diplomatic finesse, and strategic alliances with the U.S., Israel, and the UAE have shown that Morocco’s model of peace-oriented leadership, rooted in pragmatism and innovation, is shaping the future of international diplomacy. A new dawn for the world that need to be celebrated in such crucial momentum in top level Summits with the Goat and the sponsor of the Abraham Accords: POTUS Trump. Morocco will be the leader of the Abraham Accords in Africa and beyond through the exemplary model of the enlightened Moroccan Commandery of the Faithful – including kabbalistic and Sufistic interfaith interactions, with Israel leading the inter-Abrahamic Middle East and the UAE championing the Gulf countries in the pan-Abrahamic global peace. The resolution is not only a mere recognition of facts, it is a global awakening. The future is bright!
