Open Portfolio Casablanca: The City Hosts Its First International Meeting Dedicated to Emerging Graphic Arts

From July 11 to 13, 2025, the Espace Sacré Cœur in the heart of Casablanca will host the very first edition of the Open Portfolio Casablanca , a unique event dedicated to emerging graphic arts. Admission is free, and the official opening will take place on Friday, July 11 at 5:00 PM.

Organized by Casablanca Events and Animation, in collaboration with renowned national and international partners such as FIG Bilbao, the Cervantes Institute of Casablanca, Galerie Bassma, Bassma Printmaking, the Superior School of Fine Arts of Casablanca, MK Art Résidence, and Fajri Media, the event will spotlight the work of 16 emerging printmaking artists from three continents: Africa, Europe, and Asia.

Through the exhibition of their portfolios, the public will have the opportunity to explore the richness and diversity of contemporary graphic expressions.

A Program Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and Knowledge Sharing

Designed as a space for meetings and exchanges, the Open Portfolio Casablanca will offer an eclectic and inclusive program, combining exhibitions, live demonstrations, lectures, and practical workshops open to both children and adults. These activities aim to highlight one of the oldest printing arts in the world while framing it within a contemporary and accessible dynamic.

Beyond a simple exhibition, this initiative seeks to raise awareness of the diversity of printmaking techniques, including drypoint, aquatint, and linocut. Roundtables bringing together artists, critics, and art educators will also encourage collective reflection on the current challenges of graphic creation and foster connections across generations, disciplines, and cultures.

Through this inaugural edition, Casablanca asserts its ambition to become a key player on the international art circuit, offering a platform to emerging talents and contributing to the vitality of the contemporary graphic arts scene.
