An initiative organized by Omar Alami Hamedane, President of the Youth Committee of the Federation of Moroccan Competencies Residing Abroad and Member of the Moroccan Children’s Parliament
On the occasion of the commemoration of the Green March, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in Washington D.C., headed by His Excellency Mr. Youssef Amrani, welcomed a delegation of students from the British International School of Washington (BISW) in an atmosphere filled with national pride and a strong sense of belonging.
This initiative, organized by Omar Alami Hamedane, President of the Youth Committee of the Federation of Moroccan Competencies Residing Abroad and Member of the Moroccan Children’s Parliament, aims to bring the international youth closer to the universal values represented by the Green March: determination, unity, and peace.
Warmly received by Mr. Youssef Amrani, Ambassador of Morocco to the United States, the students took part in an interactive and inspiring discussion about the history and political significance of the Green March, fifty years after this milestone event in Morocco’s national unity.
In his speech, Mr. Amrani highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of this historic event, emphasizing that “after half a century, the values of the Green March — peace, cohesion, and loyalty to the nation — remain alive and universal.”
The young participants expressed their admiration for Morocco’s history and heritage, noting how this visit allowed them to better understand the Green March’s message and its role in promoting peace and dialogue among nations.
This celebration once again demonstrates the growing role of Moroccan cultural and educational diplomacy, led by Mr. Youssef Amrani, in strengthening the connections between the Kingdom and young generations around the world, in a spirit of openness, shared memory, and a shared future.
