HALIEUTIS FAIR: MIFA GROUP REAFFIRMS ITS COMMITMENT TO A BLUE ECONOMY THAT COMBINES INNOVATION, PERFORMANCE, AND ENVIRONMENTAL PRESERVATION

For 75 years, MIFA Group has been dedicated to the fishing and aquaculture sector. Recognizing the key role of major events like the Halieutis Fair in advancing the industry, the group is seizing this opportunity to reaffirm its historical role and commitment to the sustainable growth of the sector.

Through its active contribution to the modernization of a strategic sector for the national economy, MIFA Group has continuously adapted and evolved its solutions over nearly eight decades to meet the needs of various fishing practices in Morocco: artisanal, coastal, and deep-sea fishing. The company offers a comprehensive range of solutions, including satellite-based telecommunication and geolocation systems, accessories, insulated containers, as well as nets and engines for fishing vessels, catering to the diverse needs of fishermen.
With its three subsidiaries, MIFA Group today covers the entire fishing industry value chain:
• MIFA Motors, the leading distributor of outboard motors in Morocco, has been the official representative of YAMAHA in the country for over 50 years, with a network of 100 partners across different regions.
• EDC Maghreb deploys the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) for coastal fishing boats in collaboration with the Ministry of Maritime Fisheries, enhancing resource management and maritime safety. In 2025, the company will introduce NEMO, a new solution designed for artisanal fishing boats, aimed at improving connectivity and vessel monitoring.
• MIFA Équipement, specializing in the group’s historical activities in the professional fishing sector, supplies nets, lines, ropes, insulated containers, and other essential equipment. The company’s industrial unit in Agadir also manufactures fishing boats, contributing to the modernization of the fishing fleet.

Furthermore, in alignment with Morocco’s national strategies for aquaculture development, MIFA Group continues to strengthen its activities in this field. The group is involved in:
• The exploitation of maritime areas for the farming of shellfish, fish, and algae.
• The supply of specialized equipment in partnership with globally recognized companies.
• The installation and development of aquaculture farms tailored to market needs.
• The processing and valorization of aquaculture products, supported by an industrial unit located north of Agadir.
Through these initiatives, MIFA Group reaffirms its commitment to fostering a blue economy that balances innovation, performance, and environmental preservation.
