Ciments du Maroc engages in the initiatives of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection

Ciments du Maroc, as a citizen institution in Morocco, has succeeded in engaging in the campaigns of the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, where the sustainable eco-village “Saifak” participated in the “Sea Without Plastic” campaign by launching a set of educational and recreational activities through individual and group games, such as games made from recycled plastic, digital games, and augmented reality games, in addition to a special space for young children to play, and competitions.

In order to raise awareness of the importance of a sea without plastic, the village used art and culture through drawing and coloring workshops, which address the topic of protecting the coasts from plastic waste, and a library that offers vacationers a set of free books on topics of preserving natural resources, how to learn how to make pottery, the history of the city of Safi, and an exhibition of large artistic structures made from recycled materials.

The village launched a radio station, which plays a major role by broadcasting a set of messages about the environmental challenges facing the coasts, as well as inviting vacationers to participate in tangible activities such as cleaning campaigns and recreational competitions.
The citizen institution, Asment Maroc, has been involved in supporting the village, confirming its commitment to the Safi region by supporting two other beaches since 2001, namely Lalla Fatna Beach and Kram Al-Daif Beach, by improving the basic infrastructure to ensure cleanliness, health and safety. The Saifkom Village aims to raise awareness among young people and families throughout the summer, through a purposeful program developed in cooperation with the youth of the city of Safi involved in local community work, by organizing recreational and educational activities centered around games, arts, culture, and radio, and working within the values of launching the “Clean Beaches” campaign organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation for Environmental Protection, which came as an engagement in the “Beach Without Plastic” campaign, as the beach of the city of Safi enjoys many advantages that enable it to receive its visitors during the summer in the best conditions, as it has been awarded the Blue Flag since 2009, which is considered an international guarantee of the quality of coastal sites.
